I'm looking for a C180 Kompressor Sport for the Mrs - has to be the new shape and auto - not bothered about spec as long as its the new shape which she is totally smitten by

Budget is £18k max

Been looking and although new C's can be had for well under this price they are not Sports models. Cheapest Sport I've found so far is this:

Taking in to consideration the current economic downturn, would I look like a prick if I went in and offered them £18k cash for this? Thought Id ask before I went in and looked silly

What do you mean man, you've already found the car you want! In a word, no, you wouldn't look like a prick offering them £18k - I bought from another branch of direct mercedes late last year and got a bigger discount than you're looking for off the windscreen price, if you don't ask you don't get!

I asked they said no the lowest they will go is £19.5k

Mb Direct sell a lot of Mercs so they have a pretty good idea of what they're worth. If it's the cheapest already then they're not going to give it away.

Perhaps best you can do is leave your phone number with your offer and hope they call.
