Taimar - Various bits of advice needed
Discussion
Still working away on my 79 Taimar. Finally managed to clear the cooling system that was clogged up with white gunge all over the place and got it running.
Projects still to do:
The car has a beautiful paint job, black with red stripe. It is let down a bit though by split rubber bumpers, I would like to replace them, preferably with chrome but if not then with rubber again. Anyone know where they can be got?
The Brake calipers are seized and I need either to replace them (poss upgrade see next item) or service them. Again, would like advice on where to get the bits.
I have a swaymar manifold and 390 holley to fit. Anyone done this? would like advice on jetting etc for the holley.
Finally, I live in france and am considering a conversion to LHD. Again just wondered if anyone has done this and what the pitfalls are.
Cheers
Jaybe

Thanks for all of the information guys. All really useful.
My french is bad enough but my german is non-existent. I do have a german mate though who'll help me trawl through the german forum.
I still haven't totally made my mind up about the LHD thing. Although it's safer for overtaking etc. I don't know if it's worth the hassle. I don't know how much it would add to the value if I eventually sold the car over here in europe!
Big Red Looks good and very reasonably priced too. They're checking stock to see if they have what I need.
Cheers

I had the reverse experience - I bought a Taimar new from the factory in 1978 when I was living in mainland Europe. Many years later I brought it back to the U.K. when I returned here to live, but found it too much of a hassle trying to overtake on country roads. I re-exported the car and it is now in Geneva, fully restored.
