Hi all, looking for a good quality, cosy pub in the countryside of Nottinghamshire which does food and has a car park suitable for a car club gathering on a Wednesday in May. Somewhere within 10-15 miles of Nottingham would be good ....

Any thoughts?

Rob.

Good idea Steve. I`m determined that this year is the one I get to some meets - sadly no car worth showing off is in the offing (yet). What about:

The Unicorn at Gunthorpe.

The Pullman at Stanton-on-the-Wolds.

Not sure if they would be car friendly and may not meet the "cosy" part of your suggestion!

O/t: Your GL isn`t the silver one I see in Radcliffe-on-Trent a lot is it? It`s about the only one I see!

Funny you should mention The Unicorn - it came to mind although I've only ever been to the "Tom Brown" next door (great place, but not cheap!)

I'll dig around with regard to The Pullman .... cheers! smile

O/t: Re the GL, not mine although there is one near me in silver. Mine is a rarer blue with grey interior ... smile

Here are a few suggestions.

Griffin's Head in Papplewick - already has Classic & Sports car meet on first & third Wednesdays in the summer in the field at the back. Good food. http://www.thegriffinshead.co.uk/

Rose at Hose (Rose and Crown, Hose) - We use it for TVR Car Club meets - Landlord likes sports cars. Pretty big car park & good food. http://www.theroseathose.co.uk/

Red House, Nether Broughton - We're running a TVR CC meet there this month. I think the VW club use it. Big car park & good food. http://www.the-redhouse.co.uk/

Many thanks for the suggestions!

The Griffin's Head looks to be the best candidate (based upon location) and I've just noticed that it is a sister pub of The Manor House in Quorn, which is a nice place too!

I was at a Lambo meet at the Griffn last weekend. Always nice cars parked here at the weekend.
