I'm looking at buying a F355 (some of you might remember me I asked endless questions on hererolleyes
Anyway the car I'm looking at doesn't have a rear challenge grill and I can't decide whether to fit one or not?

Any advice?

Thanks

Think it needs a Challenge Grill depending on the car colour. Red and Yellow cars look best IMHO.
The back of the car looks a bit softer without one. They are £800ish new and go for about £500-£600 on ebay when they actually come up so it's a fairly expensive add-on.

My advice would be to decide if you like it and then fit it or not as the case may be.

Certainly adds nothing to a red example IMO

Agree with the other boys - depends on the colour. On the whole i'm a fan of it.

Prefer it without the challenge grill, the more colour the better.

Having owned a 355 for 8 years WITH a challenge grill, I recommend fitting for reasons other than aesthetic looks, I believe it aids engine cooling if you are ever stuck in a traffic jam or even just normal - but fast - driving. Just stand behind one after extended usage and feel the heat that comes out of the challenge grill ! I know heat normally rises but the airflow also pushes heat out backwards.

I can honestly say I've never seen a Ferrari in any colour that I think looks better with a challenge grill.

i would buy one - its not that expensive or that difficult to fit - you can always sell it on and go back to the original for a change

plus as a previous poster says it should aid cooling too

... actually doesn't look as good as it might. there is a 360 on here with it done and, IMHO, it looks awful.

I think on red it is a 50/50, on yellow it looks superb though.

On yellow, looks fabulous, especially a spider with a black roof. Apart from that I'd stick to standard. I don't like the "stuck on" look it can give the car and in some way it dates the car a bit for me. Just my opinion.

I've also read the grille can actually be counter productive in respect of cooling, can't remember why but would be worth doing some research on Fchat.

On track cars fine, but I wouldn't have it on my yellow spider road car.

Each to their own though.

Now that's because its in the shadows. In the sunlight photographed straight on they can look naff IMO. I was thinking of doing it on my 360 until i saw one painted. But of course as they say beauty's in the eye and all that..
