I'm designing some new starter and charging cables and wanted to check the starter current. The motor says 1.6kW so I'm assumming its 133A max. I've found some ultra flexible high current cable with terminations manufactured by fusing the conductors into a lug. Nice!

I don't know for sure... but allowing for belts and braces i would say that a 1000 Amps 2" dia cable should do it biggrinbiggrin

Multiply that by 4 for peak currents. I would use 600A cable.

I rather like the look of Powerflex and FusionLugs at www.cablecotech.com, unless anyone has a better suggestion.

They have a shop at http://store.cablecotech.com where you can buy it by the foot.
