After a brilliant first trip to the ring last year I have decided its a must to have a visit again this year!

Myself and 2 friends have booked the Rosyth - Zeebrugge ferry crossing leaving 28th May returning 1st June.

Anyone else thinking of a trip this year around the same time?

Hi Craig!

Looking at the opening times it's a pity you couldn't stay to do the Monday (open full day and will be much quieter). Saturday and most of Sunday will likely be the usual carnage - getting quieter on Sunday afternoon.
I've never done the trackwalk - would be interesting I think...bit longer than Fintray!

I'll next be there 15th/16th Aug...DTM weekend! rolleyes

Alright Ali!

Ferry is not until 1800 on Monday so a few laps will be had in the morning.

Any motorsport planned this season? Doune is 2 weeks on Saturday.....can't wait to get the lid back on!

The DTM weekend will be amazing!

Good you can take advantage of the Monday.

Good luck in competition this year, new house for me means just trackday antics this year (Anglesey this Sat and then a French trackday tour in August - followed by the 'Ring planned so far).

New garage though so will need a suitable toy to fill it... smile

What car are you taking to the Ring? Would it give N3 TUT competition?<BG>

Ferry back on from Edinburgh. Considering a jaunt over later in the year.

Hi Tut, hows things?

Taking my M3....the Caterham would be too nuts for the Nurburgring!

AliV6....the ferry starts again on the 18th May. Saves the long trek down south.

What are you talking about Munro, you can't even get permission to come to the Jim Clark
Rally or Doune Hillclimb..! Now you want to go to Germany. smile

How long does it take to drive from Zeebrugge to the Nurburgring?

My entry is in for Doune....can't wait! 2 weeks on Saturday!smile

Its around 2 and a half hours from Zeebrugge to the Nurburgring, my M3 goes from Aberdeen to the Nurburgring and does 1 lap on 1 tank of fuel!
Much better than a long crappy drive down south!

We were £240 each with car & cabin return. We got the price down by sharing a 4 berth cabin.

What the hell have you done to the M3 Craig?

N3 TUT with a S/C Honda does around 10mpg on track, so that would give me around 6 laps.

And don't dare call me a pussy............<BG>

Not sure on that, but we were about three and a half hours from Amsterdam.

Nothing much done to my M3 tut, big brakes, suspension and some track rubber. No match for the Supercharged beast!

Mark, no problem at all....you not 'working away' that weekend?

The info was for in the future when we take your 911 over for a good spanking wink
Everyone keeps telling me how expensive it is to get the ferry from Rosyth.
£240 does not sound too expensive to me.

Get the M coupe over man! I am heading over with Craig to this too. Would be good to have another M power there! Will probably be a lot easier round there than in your V6 Clio too...

Looking at northloop's forum today.....seems there is going to be a lot of brits going over that weekend including 37 911uk.com members!

Still spaces left on the Rosyth ferry if anyone is keen - was on the phone to Norfolkline today.
(They have taken the service over from Super-fast)

Thanks guys.

I was checking out the prices for crossings from around 9 July to around 12 July for 2 people and a car and I got:

Rosyth to Zeebrugge - £380 each return
Newcastle to Amsterdam - £190 each return
Hull to Zeebrugge - £150 each return

The Newcastle route seems a happy medium, plus I will get to spend some time in Amsterdam smile

I would be taking my 123d which is a company car. Whilst my insurance covers me to drive abroad, I don't think my work
would take too kindly to extending coverage to the Nurburgring smile

Have any of you used those car hire places who rent out Alfa 75s and Suzuki
Swifts at the Nurburgring?

Also, are there any derestricted autobahns on the Amsterdam to Nurburgring route?
