Charging Lume?
Discussion
To be honest the majority of watches I have owned have never been any good when it comes to lume - Most have not been very bright (almost unreadable in complete darkness) and if they have only lasted for 5/10minutes before fading to nothing!
So far my Citizen has been the most impressive, albeit the blue hour and minute hands are brighter for longer in comparison to the green hour markers. I was just wondering if there is a way of prolonging the brightness or activating the lume in a new watch? Will sticking it under a bulb for a few hours when new help bring the lume to life or is it a case of wearing outside and whatever happens, happens?
I'm sure someone mentioned overcharging of lume on the TZ-UK forums ... eh!?
By the way, I know tritium is pretty good at this sort of thing
Cheers!

Lume loves sunlight, it soaks it up like a sponge so if you want to max your lume give it a good dose of rays. As for overcharging, I find that hard to believe - what if you work outdoors in a sunny country? Rubbish says I. Indoor lighting is ok but you'll need to give your watch a long time to absorb enough light for a full charge. As for tritium, I assume you mean tritium gas lighting, i.e. the glass tubes. They are not as bright as fully charged super luminova, but will provide a constant level of lioght for around 12 years or so, so in terms of endurance they are the champions. Hope that helps!
