Recommend me a holiday location/family villa (young kids)

Was planning on going to the Bahamas with the family to the Atlantic resort place. However, have now started having second thoughts about a relative long haul with the kids (8/5/1). Last couple of holidays have been villa based in the Algarve and found that much more relaxing than always worrying about the kids annoying folks in a nice hotel. My kids are pretty good but the drama of eating with them in a restaurant for 14 days does not fill me with any joy whilst paying through the nose for the privelage. The usual Villa we've been to http://www.villas-portugal-ltd.com/citrus-picture-... is really nice and the location is good but to be honest we fancy a change from the Algarve and as we're going for a fortnight it would be better to be somewhere new we've not been before.

So bottom line is can anyone recommend from first hand experience somewhere that;

1) Is not too far to get to (say within 5-6 hours flying time tops).
2) Has plenty of places to go with the kids within reasonable driving range.
3) Has a good sized private villa with its own pool.
4) Is reasonably close to some beaches.

Welcome any advice/recommendations/thoughts.....

Steve, this is a pretty child friendly area, and lots to do too. These people come recommended but I have not used them.

Thanks for that will take a good look, had a quick shuftie at the villas and they look nice.

As an aside I presume from your username you're into your 02's. My brother has had a few and is currently restoring one. My mate also has a couple including a race prepped one!
