Sorry you're all probably getting bored of me now, but its a different day so a different light has come on on the dashboard of the 156. This time its the bulb out warning light. Only thing is all the external bulbs appear to be functioning properly. Does it monitor anything else as well as bulbs? Anyone else had any experience with this? Has it ever been hard to find whats causing it to come on? Any tips?
We've recently also had the VDC warning come up on the centre dash but if you turn the ignition off and back on again it goes away. Could this all be the sign of a duff battery on its way out, as I've heard that if you get some electrical niggles it can be the sign of a weak battery.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Hi Chris - if it's like mine, that may well be the sidelight bulb: one click on the light switch, the inner of the bulbs in the headlamp.

Rear number plate bulb could be another possibility.

I would agree the the above, almost always number plate or sidelight bulbs, if the light out warning light only comes on every now and then, it's probably brake lights, ie light only comes on when you are braking, obviously.

VDC light coming on then going off with restart, dodgy sensor/MAF, is it a JTD?

Number plate lights is worth checking, but twice I've had sidelight bulbs working intermittently so as soon as the warning light comes on leap out and check!

VDC errors is often down to a failing battery. If it's the original it maybe past it's best.

We had that light on because I'd fitted a headlight bulb incorrectly. The light worked, but pulling it out and refitting it solved the issue.

Changed any bulbs lately?

It is one of the sidelights. Cheers guys. Will change the bulb, hopefully the warning light will go out then. I'll let you know how it goes!
