Strap size?

I want to swap the bracelet on my watch for a leather strap, but I'd like to keep it the same size. Where do I measure?

At the lugs where the spring bars are.

You might wanna post up a pic where the bracelet is joined to the watch case as some bracelets are designed to be wider than the lug width IYSWIM!
