DUI - expected punishmemt...?
Discussion
Wow, my lot really aren't doing well at the mo. Fiance inadvertently driving without insurance, yesterday I was flashed doing about 35 in a 30, and last night my bro got done for drink driving. He said something about a reading of 44, but I've no idea what that means. He's a student with a clean licence and no claims against him (I don't know if that's relevant). What does all this mean, and what's his best and least painful approach to the impending court appearance?
Obviously I'm not trying to defend his actions, but as a concerned bro, I want to help him if I can.
((Please please please can nobody reply with a "He shouldn't have had a drink" styled statement?? Thanks in advance))

He should wear a suit, apologise profusely, say it will never happen again, apologise profusely and grovel.
and still expect to get vigorously fed (Ban + fine + costs)

But thanks for the help and advice. He's feeling very sorry for himself, although he realises he is very much at fault....

He should take that attitude with him to the court. I personaly have no time for DD as a family friend was lost to one. But if he learns his lesson and shows the court he has done so, it will help reduce the fine and or ban.

OJG,
He can expect a ban, of course. My youngish friend was caught for DD - only 2 pints of lager, but ....He managed to reduce the length of his ban by going on a course, but only by a couple of months. He almost lost his job at a garage - he got demoted instead - and his insurance costs have soared. Sounds a bit gloomy, but I don't know what else to say.
