Murcielago Fob Replacement
Discussion
Hi all,
Does anyone know where in Hampshire I would be able to get a new fob for a 2003 Murcielago? I just don't fancy going into London just to pick up a fob. I only have the one fob at the minute and it has stopped working. I tried changing the batteries but it has made no difference, plus I should really get a spare.
Thanks

I paid mine over the phone with credit card and the dealer sent it to me through the post. I think its about £120 + vat iirc but don't quote me on that. I think I got my replacement through Gray Paul.....but it was about 2 years ago tho. Hope you get it sorted soon. My Murci needs the key fob to deactivate the immobiliser as my immobiliser automatically activates itself after a wee while when the car is switched off, even if I don't lock the doors. If I tried to restart the car, there is a beep telling you the immobiliser was activated and I need to press the key fob to deactivate it.....good luck
Yes I need it to deactivate the immobiliser. I was out when it happened. I got the fob wet and then it wouldn't work. I had to get it recovered in the end and then listen to the alarm until the battery went flat. Annoying but then my fault for being an idiot and getting the fob wet. I just called Gray Paul but they only deal with Ferrari and Maserati now. He did say though that if it is the same process as getting one for a Ferrari then you would need to go in and produce the V5 and ID to be able to get one.
Looks like i'll have to go to London. Just glad it isn't in the same place as the sales department or I might do something else stupid and put my signature on the dotted line.

Now you mentioned, I did remebering them taking my vin number and proof of ID as well as the fob needs to be coded in. Good luck and let us know how you get on.Looks like i'll have to go to London. p/s: you could have switch off the battery master switch in the engine bay to mute the alarm......I think.

The master switch was turned off but the alarm kept going so it must have a backup battery.p/s: you could have switch off the battery master switch in the engine bay to mute the alarm......I think.

Lamborghini London quoted £48.30 for a fob and Lamborghini Reading quoted £143.43. Just going to call London back and see if they miss quoted. The bloke at Reading said they have never ordered one before and that he thinks they arrive coded.
£48.30??? HHHmmmmmm....that sounds like the price of the key alone....IIRC, I ordered a spare key and a fob at the same time 2 years ago and I think the fob cost a bit more than that...the £143 rings a bell tho....if I paid £120+vat 2 years ago, it'll be around the £140 mark.....but hey, they might have come down in price due to the credit crunch....if it is really $48.30, please let me know and I'll buy abother spare one to keep just in case. Please let us know.....

I have just spoken to them and they have asked for a picture, which I have just emailed to them, as they say the fob should have either no buttons or two buttons, mine has one button. I will let you know what the outcome is.Al
