My build number is on an hsv plate under the bonnett at the front and also on the lid of my HSV drivers kit in the cab. I don't think monaros are 'special' enough to have the drivers kit though!

Only the VXR models have a build number.

No build number as such Bonnie, but there's plenty of info on the vin plate, manufacturer plate and the window ID tag thingy. Hope this helps.

Yep HSV only have the build plate. Plain old Holden's just have the usual VIN.

You will have to upgrade to a vxr8 Mel, then you can have a build plate smile

I'm sure there's a sequential number somewhere, all you need to do is find which number Holden started the Monaro production at and go from there. Or I could be talking sh**e rolleyes

Part of the VIN is the sequence number. Probably the last few digits.
See pic below for how vin decodes care of efilive software.

"Sequence" smile

Thats your build number. Sadly its not very exciting though. I guess you could email or write to Holden and give them your VIN number and ask which number Monaro yours was. Though they may not respond to such requests.

Im guessing the final VIN number is just a general Holden vehicle sequence number as they pop off the assembley line.

This vin plate is not mine but is very similar. The final 6 digits do look like a consecutive build number and is approx 18,000 higher than mine. My car is Sep 04 so looks like Holden made 18,000 cars in 2 months, clearly not 18,000 Monaros...

doubt holden made 18000 of anything in 2 month period to be honest - thats like 300 cars a day - don't think they sell that well and that vin is for a ls2 based car so is probably on another sequence altogether

heres the sequence from an 04 LS1 Monaro that's been written off - I've got the ecu from it and downloaded the tune file from it to see what was done to set it up for the magnacharger so no worries about someone using the data for cloning etc

246862 built in Adelaide (Elizabeth)

But of course even thats no real use as Bonnie's car is the next generation model with the tweaked engine and modified body panels etc so its probably on another range again.
