As title really - I will be getting up early on Friday and am looking for a challenging drive.

I usually use the A5 but am wary of hidden revenue cameras (although I have a fair idea where they are these days!)

I don't mind adding an extra hour or two onto my route if the drive is worth it (g/f mood allowing).

I need to get my map out but would consider attempting to fit the Evo triangle in if it is anywhere like on route.

Obviously would like to avoid traffic, caravans and revenue photos by choice!

I think this is the route I'd take.

Does involve sitting on the A5 for a bit though so you will get stuck behind caravans on Friday. If you've got time you could perhaps wiggle about on the little roads near the A5 to make it more enjoyable. That road includes the EVO Triangle though.

If you're not so bothered about the EVO you could do Birmingham - Shrewsbury - Bala - Anglesey. That'll take you along some nice roads.

Thanks for that - having done some more swotting I'm going to do your route with evo triangle but add in the llanberis pass at the end.

Now just need to figure out how to get it onto my GPS!

Will do the other route next time I head up......considering an EVO triangle sticker so gotta 'tick the box'!

If you've got a Tomtom- download Tyre, should help for planning the route- http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/index.php

I'll be doing some of that route on Friday morning- if you get held up by a Landy with a PH sticker I apologise, give us a toot as you overtake wavey

Garmin not Tom Tom but noted for Future.

I'm setting off as early as the g/f will allow me (prolly 7) in a Blue Tuscan.

Will look out for you!!
