HUNDREDS of thousands of British drivers are being caught out by speed cameras on SAFE stretches of road.

Guidelines state that the speed traps should only be placed where there have been at least four bad accidents since 2000.

But many are revenue-raising devices on new roads or areas where there have been NO serious accidents.

Researchers in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucs found that only six per cent of speed cameras were in recognised blackspots.

The Sun has already successfully campaigned to make speed traps visible.

Now we want to make sure cameras are only put where they are needed.

Are you one of the victims of money-making traps? Or do you know of any cameras being placed on safe roads?

If so, please call The Sun on:

020 7782 4068

between 10am and 6pm today.

Now this is what the campaign needs. The highest circulation 'news'-paper (I think). Hopefully others will now follow suit.

Did anyone else here see the full 2 page spread in the News of the World yesterday highlighting the Scam and allowing you to join their petition against speed cameras?

I was very happy to see the issue getting the recognition it deserves. About bloody time too!
