I purchased a spec'd up motor in A1 condition for the wife 6 weeks ago, and decided to leave the A4 in the garage this afternoon and use it for a trip up north to visit big son at uni in York. The car is prob one of the best cars I have owned. Some times manufacturers get a car so right and I have said that said about the MK5 GTI. IMO I would agree, this is one of the most rounded cars I have brought. And it is by no means the most expensive car I have purchased. If anyone is considering, do it you won't be disapointed. Ta

2/10 for grammer, late when I posted that so change one of those 'said's' to 'read'. I am sure mate an R32 is a very different beast with an extra 20 bhp to boot as well. Ta

Revo on an Edition 30 and it will show an R32 a very, very clean pair of heels!

True, sorry was just making a pointless comparison. Saw a black Edition 30 with Xenons and it looked amazing.

As will APR, Superchips Bluefin, GIAC, Custom Code .... the Edition 30 responds very well to a remap biggrin

Probably one of the best all-rounders on the road today. Get it remapped and unleash its full potential tongue out

Edition 30 ... wheelspin ... never biggrin

In the wet an R32 would murder an Ed 30. Personally though I never try putting my foot down in wet conditions smile

I never notice whether it's wet or dry anymore, the traction is the same.

But do agree the Edition 30 is an excellent car with a lot of tuning potential

I was just about to say that too!!! I had a remapped 1.8T and it was murder in the wet, my R (mk4) can be driven the same whatever the weather - comes in handy in Wales!!!

Handy up here in Scotland as well. Our dry day fell on a Tuesday this year.

And what about that V6 burble.

ED30 and R32, pros and cons of both but both great cars never the less.

Mate of mine has an ed30 revo - no joke, once rolling as fast as an e46 M3 ! Brakes are the weak point once remapped tho i believe.

They are very, very quick once remapped - however, unless conditions are perfect if csn be a pain trying to deploy all the power .... which is why my Edition 30 is running a lower torque remap than I can use ..... it is still very quick and quite a bit above standard but just easier to use on a day to day basis.

Make no mistake though, with the high torque remap on (which I can swap to as the mood takes me) it's a beast biggrin

indeed they are once rolling... i would say that no car is gonna demolish a well remapped ed30 (doing 280-300hp) from a roll on up to around 100... trust me, i've gone head to head with my mate in my 996 X50 and until my car comes fully on boost theres not a whole lot in it !.

They look utterly stunning in red or grey, a purchase will have to wait a few years... frown
