where to get a trolley jack?

Looking for some recommendations on which trolley jack to buy that's suitable for the Cerb, if you could post up what you use and where to buy it'd be appreciated.

Costco do a lightweight (ally) 2T jack for ~£80 from memory. I have their 3T variant which goes under the car no problem, but is rather heavy.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Sealey Model 1050CX (2 ton), which fits under the Cerbera with a bit of room left for a piece of wood too! And it was £35!

yep. Another thumbs up for the Costco one. They had a special on Mobil 1 when I was last in too (5l for £25+VAT)

I have a £15.00 Halfords 2 tonne job and 2 bits of 6" x 2" timber! Drive car onto timber and then the jack fits under.

Machine mart do a 1.25 tonne sports car lightweight/low one, about £90 I think

If the Costco one people are refering to is the Arcan 2 tonne low entry trolly then that is the one I have also. It has been a good jack although larger and heavier than I thought to get (info is given with the description however) and I think I paid 90 - 100 notes. I am happy I have it. A nice jack to have and why not, but, if you only want to get the car on stands occasionaly and don't mind just a little extra fuss then the previous post options for a cheaper but not as low jack is worth consideration.

Just depends whether you don't or do mind spending the money.

I bought the Machine Mart one

It's made from a light weight alloy and is very low so goes under a Cerb with inches to spare. Also has a rubber pad on the lifting face so you don't damage any protective coating if you have it.

Now looks like a trip to Machine Mart is in order as Costco didn't have a single trolley jack to be seen

yet two bits of wood drive car onto it and normal jack fits no problem.

You can get the Arcan off ebay for under a £100 inc postage (new blue version) which is what I did recently and it is fantastic value for money. Be warned it is quite large and heavy.

The single front roller on the Machine Mart one does not look as good as the Arcans wider track single wheels imo.

I wanted height rather than convenience doing the jacking when I was planning the front end refurb. So I got the Clarke 3 tonne jack with a 520mm lift and 2 pairs of 3 tonne axle stands to sit it on.

Access was really good - could even use my wheely board to scoot about underneath

I use a scissor jack to raise the front enough to get the big jack under.

Which model number jack and how stable was it on the stands?
