I have an E38 728i sport and need new tyres on the back. I have Mich Pilot Sports 225/45/18's at the moment but the price of these is well over £200 a corner. What are other folks running?

Thanks

I've put Falken 452 on an e39 530i. I already know that when the time comes, I'll repeat the process.

I like to spend more than 20p on tyres so I'd go for Eagle F1's or Vredstien Ultra Sessenta, which have proven independantly tested credentials to back them up rather than having a primary benefit of being 'well cheap'.

Tyretraders are also very good value.

Yeah i should have said ONE of the cheapestsmile

Also i should point out that they cost more than 20p and are better than the F1s i had previously.

Interesting, what was the difference in wet braking performance from 70mph? What were the curved aquaplaning results?

Wow you certainly MISSED Foxys point there hehe

His point is..... go and actually try and find those figures/results!

You are saying that he is sad for taking notes, well thats impossible seeing as there aren't any "notes" to take hehe

Thanks for the help, I will give the Falken's a try and report back when I have done a few miles on them.

Not as late as me

I'm a bit odd when it comes to tyres but do they do them in the same tread pattern for staggered width 18 inch rims?

I'm not sure that they do, however, according to Falken's Size Chart the 255/45/18 have a 'permitted rim width' of 8j to 9.5j, so that should cover both widths (although perhaps not ideal)

Thats the correct size for the rear on 9.5J's but the fronts are 235/50 18 on an 8J's - I've been restriced to contis up till now and I don't like em much!!!
