Can any Tuscan S owners out there give the an idea of what the car is like to drive and any problems they have had if any? I am thinking of buying an S in the very near future
But would like to hear about the cars fisrt hand from any owners first.

Thanks

I have one of these babies (Nov 01') and it is a very good car. The dealers commented (Don 't they always) on the fact that the new cars are being put together very very well compared to the original units.

My only concern is the gearbox. They should have a close ratio (CR) unit which is capable of 60mph in 1st and over 90mph in 2nd. Some cars (My own included) came with the standard Tuscan unit which is a lot different according to owners who do have the CR unit. Discussions with the dealer are in progress regarding this before you ask.....

Apparently so according to my dealer. Its just a case of when.

However you will need to double check and make sure that you get it in writing. BTW based on my experience I would get a dealer to list the whole spec in the order form rather than just Tuscan S. If there were any difficulties later on it would make it easier if you had to get "legal" with them.

1, Have you had any niggles with yours to date or has it been OK?
2,What do you think of the performance and roadholding?

3, Do you use it every day, ie in traffic etc..?

Many thanks in advance.

hazy,
Making such remarks might summon the of unreliability onto you car.

Porsche owners are not all as***les

PS: all apologies for the remark I did a while ago about the speed six; I'm glad you had a false alert.

The car is pretty well sorted apart from the gearbox. I did have a nervous moment when the oil pressure dropped to zero but that was a faulty sensor and replaced in about 30 mins by the dealer. The only other niggle which needs to be resolved is the wayward speedo. I ended up doing 200mph the other day! Well thats what the speedo said

Handling wise the car is very very good. My previous car was a Chimaera 400 which was the best car I ever owned. In comparison the Chimp was slow and floaty round corners!

I am not using the car every day and to be honest it would not be my preferred choice as a commuter car. I have only had the car since Nov and the road surfaces and weather have put me off using it too much. I have had a couple of nervous moments on the country roads when overtaking that have made me wish for summer and dry roads.

Lee77,

I have just realised who you are - ahhh - all I will say is that you have sent me some evaluation stuff for a project that I am involved with! I too am a TVR owner - though just a Chimaera...

Cheers,

Paul
