I've been thinking of a new addition for a while and I quite like the look of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar. Anyone got/seen/touched one? I can't seem to find one within any sort of distance from home (Devon).
Any recommended dealers and how much would I expect to pay?

Anyone any experience of sites like watchfinders or Blowers?

Thanks for any opinions/advice

'Blowers' were fine when I bought a G.O recently....prompt, and an accurate description of the watch. A JLC is likely to be in the same sort of price bracket and rarity, ( circa £3k ?) so I wouldn't trust just anybody....certainly not from fleebay! Good luck with your search.....

Your nearest stockist is E.P.Mallory in Bath...

I remember walking past there when I working in Bath.

Some seriously impressive watches just in the window, so I can only imagine what is in the actual shop.

I think they are also my nearest Panerai stockist. Not that I can afford one, but it would be nice to see one up close.

Thanks for the info so far. Blowers have one for sale and say that they will give a full refund if it turns out not to be what you were expecting. I'm tempted!!

If you are expecting an exquisite time piece that is beautifully made, then you will not be disappointed. smile

Re. Blowers, I was thinking about buying a watch from them, but was concerned as they are not an authorised dealer (for Omega or Panerai, which were the two I was considering). So, this would be a factor to consider (unless I'm missing something?).

One of JLC's finest looking watches, I have to say.

Only worth being concerned about if you're buying new and online but where used is concerned, most ADs don't do pre-owned watches anyway.

Ah yes, makes more sense now, thanks. So, as long as it was originally bought from an AD, it should be fine. It does make me wonder though how the "Pre-Owned, Unused" models can come with warranty, or are they discounted because they don't come with manufacturer warranty?

I did have my eye on a full-size Seamaster Pro (Co-axial) in black, quite a good discount for an Unused watch. But, the warranty issue made me hang off. And now it's going, going, gone.

Blowers have unfortunately sold theirs. I might try a trip to Bath next week to have a look.
