hello. i have just put some 20" wheels on my E60 530d and im getting some strange vibrations through the car & steering as if the wheels need ballancing, It starts at 55 mph and is still there up to 85 mpm.after 90mph its fine the strange thing is the vibrations come in 20 second waves thay start of light then get more progresive to the point the passenger seat is shaking, all the tyres are new & i have had them re ballanced today but the car is still the same, Any idears chaps.??

Are you wheels hubcentric? Meaning do they fit properly onto the hubs. BMW uses the hub to centre the wheel; if the diameters between the hub and the wheel are different you'll have no end of problems. Sometimes spigot rings are available to adapt different diameters. What brand of wheels are they?

A couple of thoughts

Did you go to a decent wheel balancing place? You might want to try and find somewhere that does on-car balancing, this really helps to iron out hub alignment issues.

What about a four wheel alignment, maybe there is a problem there.

Are the tyres new?

If you still have the original wheels you can see that they don't move at all once seated on the hub face - in fact in left in place long enough some dissimilar metal corrosion can take place and they stick like sh*t to a blanket!
