Ok, I have had my bike a few weeks, fitted new tyres 2 days after I set it up and broke one of the inner tube valves with my overzealous use of a track pump.

Replaced tubes with Presta Valved tubes put air in both and went out on bike all was well, went out the next day too and all was well. Got the bike out tonight (been stood for a week) to go for a short blast but the rear tyre was totally flat and won't take any air from my handheld pumps.

Any ideas what or how I have managed to break it? Or should I just try a new tube again?

so they are presta fittings (the longer thinner one?) If so, it can be a bit fiddly sometimes fitting the pump correctly. HAve you bent the actual valve stop itself- the thing you unscrew to put air in? Or maybe your pump is knackered. Is it set for the right type of valve? Most pumps have adaptors to fit either presta or schrader valves.

Have checked the pump and set it correctly, the front tyre is perfect and I have done exactly the same thing. I would have put it down to a simple puncture but I have done less than 10 miles on the tyres and there is no damage at all.

Just tried again with 2 pumps and the thing will not take air. New tube me thinks.

Remove the tube from the tyre and then attempt to inflate it. You'll know then if the valve is faulty, or if the tube is punctured.

Don't forget to run your fingers around the inside of the tyre.
