I have 2 driveshafts that i need the outer splines changing to be able to accept a different CV joint. I have called Reco Prop and they are unable to do this for me, but can make a shaft instead. Does anyone know of a company that can do this for me?

Thanks smile

I suspect if they are saying they can't cut a new spline it is due to the fact that once the old spline is cut down there won't be enough meat left in the shaft to cut the new spline to the right dia.

Sounds like a custom made shaft might be the best option unless that spline pattern is available on a different engine combination (I know on most cars they have at least 2 cv joints that are used for low and high power applications.)

If you need to cut a custom spline you'll need the mating part off the car.

Then find a local engineering company / machine shop with wire cutting facilities and spark erosion they should be able to scan your existing female spline to produce a spark erosion die this is tehn used to cut the new spline on the existing driveshaft.

It may be cheaper to make new shafts
I would recommend contacting Dave Mac props in Coventry typically he's about 1/2 the price of Recoprop
