Rear brake caliper split pin and spring?

Currently refurbing my calipers and found all the various numbers and bits.

However, AP being the twunts that the usually are won't sell me the fking springs and split pins and say I have to go direct to Aston Martin...... gits.

So, anyone know what one they were off? Or a substitue?

Poking through som AP catalogues I found that they do some different strength spings to go behind the pistons that may help with the pad knock off and rattle issues we suffer from.

I just bought some from Racetech TVR. IIRC pins were £4 each and the springs were £1-ish.

I believe the rear calipers are the same as the fronts on proper Minis, but couldn't be arsed checking this, as I was picking some other stuff from Racetech anyway.

ahh yes forgot about Mini application.

Will have a hunt and see if I can get them locally and a little cheaper.

£20 seems a lot for four pins and springs.

TVR Car parts do the pins for £4.50.

Couldn't find them in any motor factors or even at Namrick.

Just for future reference, the size of the split pin is 98mm (100mm - 3.8"), by 4mm.

The Mini Cooper 'S' pin won't fit because it is for a non-vented caliper, shame because you can get them for less than 30p! Just searching for somewhere to get them cheap, but not finding many places due to the odd size!

I got some pins for mine from a local hardware place ..... in the [/b]Spare Parts For Tractors[/b] section.

One of these days I'll get springs for it too
