15 quid for saddlebag.

I was looking at Oakley M-frame sweeps for glasses but they're quite expensive. I currently have some DHB crappy things off Wiggle for 15 quid... but as you'd expect they're crap.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Endura do some nice midrange glasses, that are noticeably better quality than the budget £15 type clear safety lens types.

Personally - the cheapies are a far, far better bet for MTB, as they get ruined in a few months riding anyway by mud and scratching, dropping, rolling around the car boot etc.

Decathlon blue label, £7, buy 3 sets, dont worry about it.

Don't buy any Topeak bags. They're hopeless, absolute ste. Last months at the most.

I quite like Specialized bags - the last one I had lasted 5 years. This one I have now is about 3 months old and still going strong.

IMHO - Glasses should always be worm on a bike, they keep out flying debris. So wrap rounds with interchangeable lenses are the best bet.

I have a specialized saddle bag. Got it about 5 years ago for around £10 and it is still going strong. Amazing what you can fit in it too.

I find Osiris prescription sunglasses work best for me wink but at around £100 a pop they are not cheap wink

Take a look at glasses intended as personal protective equipment (PPE) - they have to meet all the rigorous impact / UV tests but are cheaper than those intended as fashion wear and no VAT. Usually you can get them in clear, light tints (yellows/oranges) for low light and the usual smoke colour.

They're not all lab-specs either, the likes of Bolle make some neat ones. I've got a few pairs, none cost more than a tenner so worries if I leave them somewhere or they get scratched.

Loads on ebay too.

Not sure of the quality or longevity but Lidl have sunny's with interchangeable lenses for £6 and a saddle bag with some tools and puncture kit for same £6.

Got to be worth a punt at that kinda cash.

I just use some cheap bolle safety glasses, cost about £6 a pair, that way can afford to buy a couple of pairs of dark ones and a couple of clear ones. I'd never wear expensive ones on a bike, they always end up getting scratched or broken somehow.

I tried the Bolle glasses for £6 or so and wasn't impressed. Too heavy IMO.

The BBB glasses on Chainreactioncycles are pretty good. Nice lens shape, seems to suit my face. I didn't get on with the DHB glasses from Wiggle and actually returned them.

Saddlebags: Lidl had cheap bike stuff in store last week. The saddlebag (complete with tools) for <£5 is actually very good! Got one for the wife's commuter but not for me as I hate "stuff" on the bike LOL
