Hi,

I'm looking for a new Number Plate Lens (the clear plastic cover behind the number plate for the bulb) as one of mine is damaged.

I've found a couple of possible suppliers like Clever Trevor or Racing Green but I'm shocked when the 5-6 quid part has a postal charge of 7-8 quid eek

Anybody know of any of suppliers (since it's used on various cars, even the Triumph Stag) with a more sensible cost? OK, if I've no choice then I'll have to fork out over £15 but it's a bit steep for a bit of cheap plastic that's far from a TVR specialist item!

Cheers,

Steve

Give them a bell, most will pop it in first class post. The web thing is a generic posting charge.

Changed mine to 12V LED strip housed within and never looked back...

Overall clear illuminated back plate and only 300mA draw...Bonus.

Only £6 a strip 300mm long.

I'll try and get some pics up Sat...

Put the same strip in boot wired thro a Modwise remote boot opener and now you need sunglasses to look in the boot at night (ok maybe not that bright) but you gets my drift.

Thanks guys, I'll maybe give them a ring after the Easter Break then.

While it was off, I tried the LED Festoon type bulbs but afraid it doesn't work as well as a normal bulb due to the direction light of the LEDs. Tried at various angles but afraid it just didn't light up the number plate as well as the radiated light from a normal bulb. Will put new bulbs in though as the old ones as bound to be past their best!
