My guess is yes...and he deserves it...

He brought a used motorbike privately (no Tax, MOT, Insurance as he doesn't have a full Bike license)

He has been flashed and recieved a nip, he doesn't seem to think he will get in too much trouble!

I reckon he will be walking around for atleast 6 months...opinions?

someone my gf knows was involved in a hit and run while driving a bike, for which he had no insurance or license.

He was the one who was hit, not the the one who ran btw.

The police on the scene seemed very lax, and i think he got away with it!

No Insurance is taken seriously by both Police and the Courts.

To buy a motorbike without a full licence and then ride it without insurance/MOT/Tax etc is just plain and simply STUPID.

IF he’s found guilty on all offences he may be looking at a short ban and large fine.

With regards to the failing to stop motorcycle. All FTS collisions will be chased up. How long ago did it happen?

Being a fully paid up member of the road tax crowd I would have to say, in the words of the great Al Murray, 'Oh dear what a pity never mind' but the big question is if he was obviously going the illegal route why did the muppet register the bike in his own name at his real address

He didn't

The Nip went to the PO, who naturally provided my mates details. If my mate had been bothered to send the incorrectly filled out forms off he probably would have been ok..

I told him he was inviting a shit load of trouble with his 'head in the sand' routine....

Do you think there is a chance of that sort of punishment? I guess he was doing 20 mph over the limit, so he shoud really expect a life sentence, just for managing to survive it...

Uttering a forged document is even worse than the no insurance offence. Very stupid line, that’ll guarantee a criminal record.

Fine, until he gets pulled over, or has a collision. Failing to register a vehicle is irresponsible and causes more grief for the ‘victims’ of fail to stop collisions were the vehicle isn’t registered.

If anybody ‘clocks up’ offences in an unregistered vehicle they run the risk of a ban and the vehicle being seized.

Both above suggestions are illegal, stupid and immoral.

I love people who don't register their cars.

In my experience only people who are "naughty" won't register a car or bike...and yes registering a car in your Mum's 'name cause you are down as a named driver on her insurance even though it's your car is still naughty!!

The process is like a 3 line statement for BiB and even WE can cope with that

I too am coming to the conclusion that being legal is stupid.

Just out of interest if plod stop you in an unregistered car and you refuse to give your name what's the next steps?

Prison 'till you say who you are?
