Photos of my new V8S.
Bodywork is very good, it has a roll bar which I am going to take off, if anyones interested in one?
Front is in very good condition, no stone chips means it has probably had the front end resprayed
Rear screen needs replacing and hood adjusting but nothing major
Leather interior is in very good condition but colour not my first choice, its Flint Grey, I think long term I might have it retrimmed in Magnolia.
Wood dash also in very good condition, nice colour to it too. Carpets are a mess and need replacing, this will be done once the roof is sorted.
Wheels have all been refurbed and look like new although the shine has been taken off them, anyone know how to get that back?
Chassis seems to have been looked after and is sealed and painted red, has uprated cross drilled disc brakes, uprated shocks, it has comprehensive service history with bills (some from factory) and I am very happy with it!! I thought my S2 sounded fantastic but this is something else!!!

Looks like a real beauty.
The wheels can be polished using a leather flail (the correct name of which excapes me at the moment "burnisher?"), but if they have been laqured and sealed then you would have to remove this first. I should think that the original owner was after the matt look. IMO you would be going backwards to go forwards and you may be better finding somone who likes the matt wheels to do a swop with.
How much do you want for your rollbar.

I can live with the wheels as they still look good, just think they look slightly better polished.
As for the roll bar, I think its a competition one, as it was used for speed trials, I will ask previous owner and let you know. As for how much I want for it, no idea havent given it much thought, dont know how much they cost to be truthfull!!! Its got the harness too! According to MrSheen, it does make the car feel a lot more solid, so I will let you know once I have taken it off.

Personally I would leave it on, and if you are considering some re-trimming work then get it done in leather to match. Rich...
Not a bad idea, covering it in Magnolia leather hmmmm will bear that in mind, but if anyone wants to make me an offer for the roll bar, send me a mail!
Hows the T-shirt Rich??? wore it to any meetings yet?

Have you thought about selling your number plate?
JWS, shame that the W is up the wrong way and the J being at the front and not in the middle!!
Yeah thought about it and had it valued yesterday at £400 but dont know anyone with the initials JWS? I would rather sell it cheap than give it back to DVLA, shame really, might try PH classifieds.

Looks very nice
Reference the roll bar, somebody in the griff forum recently had one fitted and re trimmed.Looked very nice when done. Have a look at the photos or just ask who had it done.
Personally i would leave it in as if you take it out the are holes to fill and you lose the safety feature

That'll be GarryM.
Seen his Griff and the roll bar looks good trimmed to match the interior.
Just taken a look at GarryM's Grif with leather covered roll bar and must say it doesnt look bad, I might just have changed my mind, We will see!
Got some good quotes for retrimming car in Leather or Leather/Vinyl so will hopefully get it booked in early next year!
I assume its the one advertised recently, if so an absolute bargain. Congratulations
I take it Andy (Mr Sheen) gave it the thumbs up on the general condition then.
Mine has flint interior, thought the same as you for about 5 minutes then just got into enjoying driving it and forgot about it
.
Personally I would not remove the roll bar, if anything it makes you look double hard

Yes Harry it was the one recently advertised, he put a years tax on it and it went through its MOT yesterday with two very minor faults making it fail (rear light cluster connections needed cleaning and the UJ on the steering column is worn) So quite pleased with that! Andy did give it a thorough going over, The drinks are on me Andy !!!!
I think it was a bargain he has uprated lots of the parts and it has the roll bar. Still not decided on the roll bar, thought I had made up my mind to keep it and cover in leather then yesterday the MOT test said it weighed 1190kg its supposed to weigh 200kg less than that is that how much roll bars weigh?? if so thats got to sap the performance a little! so still undecided!

Errr.. No.. If your Rollbar weighed over 30 stone then it must be made of sold gold bar I reckon.. probably much more like 20 kgs..
Cheers
Matt.
Edited to add..I very much doubt a V8S is going to weigh in at as little as 990 Kg on the road either..

Thought it was rather excessive!!!!! Just showing my ignorance and lack of knowledge. Its just that the weight of the car on the V5 document says it weighs 960kg, I guess it might be that figure which is inaccurate, thanks Mat.
