LG as a brand is it any good ?
Discussion
If you mean LG I'm sitting looking at one right now. Picture quality is up there with the Bravias and Vieras I've seen, only area you seem to lose out is build quality (some of the casing materials leave a little to be desired). It seems especially capable with HD content, espeically that which comes out of the back of a PS3.
I'd buy another.
I'd buy another.

LG are at the leading edge of R&D in plasma and LCD screens.
Wouldn't agree - Panasonic have been way ahead of LG, and Pioneer was a step up again, with Fujitsu being SOTA (state of the art) until they bowed out of the market, leaving Pioneer to pick up the reigns about 18 months ago.baldy1926 said:
i saw on a bbc tech programme a while back that lg makes most of the screens and sells them onto other companys
LG and Philips co-funded plants to produce LCD panels.Sony teamed up with Samsung for the same purpose of cost sharing.
Samsung also supplies 30% Sharp owned Loewe with panels when Sharp output can't meet their own and Loewe's demands - all the more likely with Pioneer's LCD being a Sharp panel.
B&O purchase from LG/Philips.
Pioneer's latest plasma panels and electronics are Panasonic sourced, but the Kuro tech remains very much Pioneer in-house.
Not sure where LG and Samsung plasma panels come from, unless their own plasma motherglass plants.
Equally not sure who provides JVC and Toshiba with theirs - but then it's mainly academic since the main brand panels are all very much of a muchness, and it's down to the electronics driving the panels, and the algorithms designed by each manufacturer on how the signals are processed, etc.
