Noble Track Day?

It's been mentioned a few times on other threads, so i thought i'd start us off?

How about Snetterton on Saturday 25 July - Open Pitlane, 105 db for £199.00? Snetterton is good as the run-offs are fairly big!

It would be good to do a Noble only day but i'm not sure how to go about sorting that? Any ideas welcome?

It would be good to start a list of people who are interested in a track day?

I'd love to do Donington but the noise restrictions would stop me getting on track.

Anything over 101db would be fine though.


ETA: I'm booked on for Silverstone Southern Circuit Monday 4th May if anyone's interested?

i'd be willing to travel but going to be at the 'ring and on way to spa for mon +tues with bookatrack on 25th july. agree somewhere noise friendly and central a good idea, not sure where to suggest. silvertsone good for noise but quite far south, rockingham anticlockwise so not great for oil starvation, donny fantastic track but would need to be unsilenced day (eg bookatrack tues 9th june but £340) would always suggest oulton which is 105db for noise but far north for many.

maybe snetterton fills all criteria

Snetterton is err..... a bit boring, not far off being an nascar oval. ;-)
I'd rather do Donington or Silverstone, much more demanding. :-)
It;s my birthday that day too so it's a yes from me.

I did a track day at Donny today and it was 105 db so enough for most of the Nobles if there was another available !

Managed some 1.22's which felt great !

I would be up for anything .....on a track !!! but no track day sump fitted so will have to take it steady ....unless anyone has one for sale !!

No track days are boring if your a true petrolhead and i just thought Snetterton would be a good place to start for beginners, plus i just thought it would be good to get the ball rolling on the track day idea. (oh, and if it's your birthday maybe you could buy us all lunch)


Anyway - Agree with above comments on more central circuit so maybe Donny then?

3. Silverstone - Grand Prix Circuit - Tuesday 4 August - Open Pitlane - 105 db - £350.00

Our PR guy does Donington's marketing for them too so may be able to get us a better deal or access? I'll get back to you when I've managed to speak to him?

FYI

Donington has been refused a race license bt the MSA (i.e. because it's unsafe).

The last two race meetings were apparently run with yellow flags being shown for half the circuit.

Experienced drivers have also commented on that there is a lack of run-off due to earth being dumped after building work.

Maybe later in the year they'll have sorted it out but at the moment all they've managed to do, for the club racing fraternity, is annoy and inconvenience everyone. It's a shame really and it wouldn't encourage me to organise an event there until they've sorted things out.

Yep, our meeting there on May 2nd/3rd has been moved to Rockingham. Circuit license suspended.

IMHO Snetterton is well worth the trip. The circuit is demanding way beyond it's appearance. I still love it, even if we can read the paper while going down the back straight in the Clio !

Wrong, try doing Corum flat, in 5th , after going through Bomb whole with yer foot in and then braking for Russell.

Then tell me its boring.

If you drive the track with some thought and go for it, it is very very exciting and very very challenging.
