Well not really - his owner though.
Steve - This years exploration trip is going to include Harris / Lewis initially for a couple of days.
Any hints and tips for a quick whistle stop tour ?
Thanks.

Make SURE it's sunny! South Harris is the best place on earth in the sun and the worst in the rain (bugger all to do)
Check out the Rodel Hotel. Down at the bottom of Harris. Sitting outside by the harbour with a beer in the sun - it can't be beaten.
As you head south through Harris there is a 'wee' road to a place called Luskintyre. Make sure you drive to the end of this road!
Stornaway is the worst town in Britain - avoid if you possibly can... take the ferry from Uig to Tarbert - not Ullapool - Stornaway.
The west coast of Lewis has some fab beaches... and the Calanish stones are worth a visit if you like stone circles.
The place shuts on a Sunday. No I mean REALLY shuts. Not even the ferries run (Free Presbyterianism at it's worst)
If the weather is good and you fancy being weird, wait on Horgabost beach for the 'ferry' (I use that word in it's broadest sense) to Taransay (where Castaway was filmed all those years back).
If it rains - you're buggered.
No midges in May. Loads in August.
No tourists in May, Loads in August.
May is the driest month. It rains for much of August.
We will be there in May (we are lucky enough to be able to wait for the weather).
Most of these from Harris: http://www.stevecarter.com/harris-2007/hebrides.ht... (the bottom two are near Luskintyre)
Have a good trip.

Cheers Steve - we'd planned on the Uig Tarbert ferry anyway - and only using the Stornaway - Ullapool one as we need to head back to Aberdeen and it just made sense.
Already scoped out Harris - and the single campsite. We'll be camping on the Landy and campsites look more favourable in Lewis (i.e. theres more than one).
Were thinking about July / August time (thanks to the missus) so we'll be in midge heaven... however I'm planning on having a second trip up there away myself so don't know when that'll be - might be sooner rather than later.
Nice to see that the Wee Free still have their morals.
Thanks again for the tips on places to visit.
