Newbie question - supermarket stock on Thursday night
Discussion
Just thinking about what to take and what to buy once arrived.
Will the Carrefour be sold out of stubbies, ice, BBQs, gazebos or fence-making materials from all the other le mans-ers by the time we arrive late on Thursday afternoon? It would obviously be a lot easier to buy beer etc on arrival if possible!
Thanks

Forget Carrefour and go elsewhere and avoid the crowds. Head south down the Tours road (D338, old N138) to Ecommoy. Big Super-U on the right before the town.Only 10 mins from Mulsanne bend and no traffic. Either that or the Super-U at Arnage just on the roundabout north of the centre of Arnage.

You'll be fine, there will be plenty of everything! - The only thing Ive seen a shortage of is ice, The queues at Carrefour can be pretty long though, and as lowdrag said there are a few other stores to choose from anyway. Will the Carrefour be sold out of stubbies, ice, BBQs, gazebos or fence-making materials from all the other le mans-ers by the time we arrive late on Thursday afternoon? thanks for those, any chance you could mark them on a google map for us...please

This will give you idea. I've noted Bleu camping opposite the main entrance to give you a point of reference. All you do for Arnage is take the four lane ring road west and come off two exits down and you are there, as you'll see. The Ecommoy one is straight down the D338 just off the map south

Here's a closer image of the arnage site\;-

My advice would be to buy the biggest cooler you can fit in your car... or take more than one cooler and use one for beer, and the other for ice. If you have a decent cooler full of ice it will stay frozen for a couple of days at a time. Then just take out a bag at a time as your beer cooler ice melts.
