Hi looking for some advise i currently drive a 98 chim 400 and have been thinking about the speed 6 cerb just looking for some pointers ect, What things to look out engine wise i know about condition as i restored my chim and understand chassis issues. It is more what are the little niggles to look out for and how do these drive compared to the chim?
I have owned an S6 for over one year now, it has been an absolute pleasure to own and drive. It has the sports exhaust so the noise is great with plenty of pops and bangs on the overrun!
My search for a Cerb focused on condition and service records before anything else, I wasn't closed to any engine choice but in hindsight I am happy with the S6 due to good rebuilds available with warranty and now FFF and 4.3 developments available so there seems no better time.
Mine is still on the original engine with just 15K miles on it, its had either it's 6K and 12K service done annually and seems just fine- it uses very little oil and I guess my only negative comment is that they are noisy when cold but that soon goes away. I plan on installing the raceproved valve cover and oiler this summer to improve when cold. I drive very careful until it's warmed up but can't say about the previous owners.
If you find a nice one go for it! you will not regret it!
