Yeah, the Six shows up as a 'road car' - it's fast alright, but it's not possible to go flat out into braking areas and stand it on its nose repeatedly. You can get a couple of decent laps out of it then it's all about managing brake temps after that. Peak speed in the Six was on the way to 150mph on the long straight but dropping down to 2nd gear for the chicane took all the goodness out of the middle pedal.

The Cerbera, on the other hand, can be beaten to death lap after lap. Braking into Redgate probably only 50-75m shy of where I'd brake in a Challenge Tuscan. Cerbera perfectly happy thundering towards the chicane and braking late - never looked at the speedo though! Although not as stiff as a race car, a Cerbera can be driven pretty much exactly like a race car - all gas/all brake.

The Six in the chicane - the EVO X behind had waited for a 'drag race' down the straight and got close again because of steady braking in the Diablo.

Are you really sure the Duchess is the one to jump in if you had that big and devastating fire in your garage and had to make the choice?

I did 600 miles in the 4.5 yesterday - a different kind of hard work for it. The Cerbera can make a mockery of satnav 'estimated time of arrival'. It's what happens when the road empties ahead and you just squeeze your big toe on the loud pedal a little and the street lamps turn into a blurred vortex.

As for picking 'the one car to keep'... tough call, but the Merc is still the one. Hope I never have to make the choice though!
