Spent the day travelling around the Brecon Beacons with a couple of mates. Weather was stunning all day and the traffic wasn't too bad for most of it. Saw lots of "PH"-type cars, plenty of Porkers, a Maserati or two but never know if they are just normal people...

We went on the Black Mountain road from the TG AMG Black Series episode, which was AMAZING!! Will try and get a photo of the route loaded up for anyone interested biggrin.

If you have Tyre ( Trace Your Route Everywhere) or another way of viewing ITN files then you can have a look at the ITN file, here (right click, save target as).

And here's a view of the route, anti-clockwise:
.

Route was as follows, really:
M4 J17 - M4 J28, then cross counry to Aberdare. Then Brynamman, and Llangadog (via Black Mountain Road). Then to Cymann, Llanddewi Brefi, and Tregaron. Ystraddfin next, via Llyn Brianne Reservoir. Back up the same road and off towards Beulah, before joining the military road from Garth to Upper Chapel. Into Brecon and along the A470 and A4059, before heading along the Heads of the Valleys Road (A465) towards Abergavenny. Minor diversion along the B4560 and then skirting around Abergavenny to Usk via the A4042. Join the B4235 to Chepstow (pretty decent road) and return to Wiltshire along the M48.

The southern part of that route is very similar to a run I did recently - highly recommended, especially the last bit back to Chepstow.

It's worth pointing out that some of the Valleys roads, like the A4107 and A4061 are well worth checking out too. Just be careful not to stop, you can hear the banjos tuning whenever fresh meat arrives.
