Ted,
Are you currently thinking of introducing new sections/colours/letters on PH ?
It could be funny to have something else than the oh-so-boring white background, such as background wallpapers which would be choosen by each member in his/her profile section, or anything else.

In the gassing station, it could be also interesting to use the box which contains the login of the member to reintroduce signatures, or maybe 'Ted's opinion' on each person...

Sorry for my insolence; I guess you must be struggling all the time with bugs of all sorts

No plans. The colour scheme does have some logic behind it. The white background was chosen to make the content clear. No major flashy colours as I don't want to detract from the photographs or the adverts.

Similarly with the forums. Keeping the layout simple makes the content obvious. I abhor the other technical forums I browse from time to time which are littered with useless information that just cloud what I'm looking for.

At the end of the day, 'Content is king' and I'm happy with the way the site looks these days. Hopefully people perceive it as a professional look, but more importantly it works.

I am working on greater personalisation for members' profiles. Photo galleries are in progress (no more messing about at Fotango) for example.

Photos galleries ?

I wonder how you can improve hosting pictures.
I'm quite annoyed not to have posted a picture of my car and wish I could do but I would need a digital camera, but anyway I have no connected friends who have their own sites...Can this problem be solved ? Through using webcams maybe ?

That's what I mean, I will probably offer some sort of hosting service for your photos to save you publishing elsewhere and linking to them.

Unlike my posts - that should read 'clearer'. Sorry too much Cambelt juice.

Well, I've just got meself a scanner and have uploaded them into Fotango (I hope it'll work) but I think the ability to place your cars on your profile would be great. And of course on your Old cars bit..

Due respect to thom, but I think this is one of the best-looking sites anywhere. Clear layout, attractive colours and lots of remarkably good features. Streets ahead of the rest. And no, I'm not looking for a free pie from Ted...

Well, I admit I had been nit-picking...but actually what really bothers me is the white background: after a while (10 min) my eyes 'hurt', even at a distance of 1 meter

Ah thom, how I envy your youthful eyes - I can hardly find my chair from 1 metre...

Can you not reduce the brightness of your monitor and alter the contrast?

Ted, I agree entirely -- the content is the important thing and the clear look is definitely the way to go.

It looks good, don't mess with it.

I'd like to add my agreement that the content is why I visit this site. Multi colours are ok, but in the end annoying. If I want really pretty pictures, I'll go find some with nekked laydeez ! I noticed the odd bike battery advert appearing. Good idea, 'cos I think this site is going to get read by more and more bikers over the next few months.
