North Yorkshire Speed Cameras

I was under the impression that North Yorkshire had no mobile speed camera vans, just the old bill with there hairdryers.

Traveling home last night from Doncaster (11:30pm approx) up the A19 and had just passed through Burn before getting to the roundabout with the A63 there was a Police looking van tucked away at the side of the road facing towards Burn with what I'm sure was a camera pointing down the road behind a window (it could be 2).

Im sure was well within the Speed limit which is not the problem, The issue was that is North Yorkshire (Selby police force) now putting Camera Vans out on the road or was this an APNR (it was dark so could not tell)?

They have camera vans. We have one in Scarborough, completely unmarked, and patrols tha A64 on Malton bypass, and also the A171 Scarborough to Pickering, also heard it patrols the A174 Scarborough to Whitby road. Its a White Citroen/Peugeot, and as has been mentioned, its completely unmarked!! Will post the reg number up when I see again.

You will probably notice that there is a marked police vehicle waiting further down the road

This tends to suggest its ANPR based

I didn't see a police car but the roundabout is quite big so could have been sitting on the other side! Supprised that they were out so late!l

it was there when i returned home to thorpe willoughby at about 6pm yesterday from the big malton meet.
so if it was still there at 11.30pm they maybe nodded off

Ah so was it anpr or speed camera. Doesn't really matter just intrested.
