As some of you will remember my OH of 8.5 years broke up with me at the beginning of March and started seeing someone else a week later. It now transpires that the person she's seeing is her previous ex. When she met me she had been single for 3.5 years after breaking up with him. Prior to that she had been with him for 11.5 years. They broke up because he was nasty to her, cheated on her and gave her something that he had caught from a women he was cheating with. Not a nice situation. Then he screwed a load of money out of her when he left.

So... what will happen next?

My intuition tells me that this new relationship with her ex is doomed because whatever was wrong first time round will still be wrong now. But that said, the fact that she is so helplessly attracted to him that she'll revisit the relationship after all this time, and after what he did to her, suggests that she'll be stuck in a 'moth to a flame' type loop for the rest of her life and will never find a meaningful and settled relationship with anyone if she can't resist him, so she's a lost cause as far as I or any other poor unsuspecting bloke is concerned.

She choose me, a nice bloke, because she didn't wanted to be mistreated and cheated-on, so it's ironic that she, of all people, does to me, of all people, what he did to her... and teams-up with him, of all people, in order to achieve this!

Snake with tits doesn't even begin to describe her.

It's the damnedest difficult thing to get your head around at times like this but there must be a corner of your mind where the only good distance between you and this swt is a very, very big one. You're moving on to better things already so don't look back.

Does a part of your brain not scream at you for writing this on Pistonheads?

Can you not step back and see how pathetic it makes you look?

Don't worry, I'm used to Rich, bless him. He never fails to make a thread look like it's three billygoats and a bridge short of a fairytale. hehe

What good does it do to post about your ex wanting to be with someone other than you?

It isnt a SWT situation, its a someone choosing not to be with you situation no matter how much you want it dressed up.

Accept it, stop bhing and act like a man.

Don't fall into the trap of becoming yet another bitter stupid bloke...

On the contrary, given what you have said, I feel quite sorry for this dumb bint, that she can't see the wood for the trees. Take a step back from yourself and look at this woman. As you said she is never going to get herself settled, she has put herself onthe path to pain, aggro and disappointment... i feel sorry for her for that, albeit its all her own doing.

Get on with your life, because it also sounds like you had a lucky escape... so all good for you !!

Ask yourself what you are made of, what is your character !?!?!

Don't just become yet another bitter twisted woman-hating tw*t ehhh... rise about it

Absolutely, not everything w t is an s. In this case I suspect the OP is entitled to the benefit of any doubt.

I'm not becoming cynical and bitter about all women, just abut her, hence why I said 'snake' singular. I believe there are good women out there and I will find one of them.

Come on Rich, don't give the guy a hard time. He is having enough of his own. Perhaps he wants comfort and even similar tails to help him through.

It would do you good to do the same occasionally.

Ignore her. Let her make the same mistakes; very likely she'll come back BUT you have to be strong and tell her to shove it because you deserve better.

Reaquainting the OP with reality is bad?

Never ever post on Pistonheads if you want sympathy as you'll never get it.

Forget this girl, get her out of your head and move on.

I'm in the process of doing that. I texted her earlier to see when she'll be out so I can go and get some stuff that's still in her house. She asked if I'd be leaving some ground coffee for my Espresso machine which is still there - Not sure what planet she's on... No dear, I'll be taking my Espresso machine, thanks. LOL. Didn't tell her that. be a nice surprise when she gets home and realises she'll no longer need any ground coffee.
