What is money to you?

How do you value money, do you watch every penny, or do you think you can earn more why not spend it?

I personally enjoy spending my hard earned cash, as i can always earn more money, but can't earn good times.

What are you views?

I always know exactly how much money i have, and keep a very strict budget. I am saving for my house and travelling you see, and will only spend money if it's worth while, and wont buy anything unless i really need it.

I just see this as sensible and really don't understand how people get into so many money problems!

Spend spend spend. Make more money and spend again. If I see something I want and can afford it I will buy it. Whats the point in pissing about watching .1% here and there. If I cant afford something and I want it I will save till I have enough then spend the money on it. Rainy days suck anyway so make everyday rainy (money wise)

I like to have a buffer in case. Quite useful when you perhaps decide to buy a nice car. Or decide you want to tell your boss to shove his job.

Has changed with the age qnd the job. In my younger days I was public sector and if I had £1 in the bank at month end that was OK.

Now I am older and self employed and like to have a 6 month buffer before I spend any large amount. The chances of me making up for any stupid mistakes which leave me skint are diminishing as retirement looms.

Makes sense to me, I'm in that boat too.

I think it is easier once you have established yourself, be it a couple of ranks above entry level in the services, a couple of rungs on the management ladder or established a customer base for your own business.

Also, once you have 'established' a family unit you are less inclined to spend £100s a month pissing your wages up against the wall of the Red Lion, or worse.

Money is to be spent on those things which you enjoy, be it holidays, cars, families, houses etc..

A little in the bank for security is good, after than, feck it, you only live once.
