Trying to think of a fast, fun, different sports car, i want something that feels special and wont drop in value like a rock. Number of seats doesnt matter, i wont do any more than 5k a year- is a weekend car, was looking at a z3m coupe then thought about this.

What do people think of the tt sport model? The silver with black roof looks rather nice.

Will residuals hold better than a standard 225?

Does it really feel a lot better than the 225?

I'd like someone to give me some similar answers. Also with regards to the 3.2 MK1 quattro - is there much difference between this and a 225?

Well in terms of standard performance the 225 and V6 are similar. You get the noise and torque in the V6, but and here is the big but, if you want to tune it you have to get the 225 as it can done up to 300bhp fairly easily, there arent many options for the V6 without spending big money!

Hi,

I have a TT Roadster 225 as a 3rd car which I use just for pleasure. a very good car for a bit of weekend fun and is not too expensive to insure and run. There are plenty around at reasonable money and are definitley worth considering. As previous post - they can be modified fairly easily without breaking the bank - but if kept standard are no more expensive to repair and maintain than a Golf GTI.

Lots of fun for not much money - and if you buy a well looked after model of reasonable age - it will not break the bank, or dent your balance if you need to repair it. I love mine - well recommended.

Cheers Buzz

I have a TTS. I assume this is the TT sport?

If so, fantatsic car. I went from a 996 turbo with just over 500bhp into this, and have just as much fun. It handles well, i have the auto with flappy paddles, and its great fun driving through the gears.

I'd give it 10/10

Actually no, the TT Sport is the TT Mk 1 coupe with the 1.8turbo uprated from 225 to 240 bhp, strip out the rear seats, fit the Mk 1 3.2 body kit to the 1.8t 225, uprated to 240, a special set of multi spoke alloys, sightly wider track, metal roof replaced by black plastic one to save weight, and a set of fixed recaros.

TTS, is the new shape, very nice though.

I've got the Mk1 3.2 DSG - had for just over 3 months now and have loved every second.
Over on the TT forum, when the discussions about 225bhp vs DSG comes around the 225 crew always comment "it's easier to Mod - you can get 300+ out of it..." but i haven't got the time or inclination to Mod anyway - so what I have is perfect. And it sounds oh so much better...

I've had a Mk1 3.2 manual for a week now having replaced my S2000 and I have to say the Audi is great I am very impressed. It's a little nose heavy but it does give you a nice shove in the back and sounds great when doing so!

Also a new R2 out soon, which will make the RSTT and TTS pointless.
