In my opinion its not that bad an idea to go for a highish milage Tuscan, for one thing you know that the car has had all the niggles done on it and if bought off a dealer then you would get a warranty anyway.
I would rather go for a mid to high milage Tuscan than a low milage early Tuscan.
The car that I have bought and am picking up from Christopher Neil this saturday has bone 45K and is a one owner with full TVRSH. The previous owner has had to carry out all the mods and put up with the hassle of it all.
The fact that the milage was a bit high did not bother me any.
As my previous car (Giffith)experiance, the car much rathered being used than sitting in a garage.

To quote another post from the owner:
"car will be 3 years old on April 1st!!!! Sorry to say the engine was rebuilt twice early on (the usual with the early ones- valve gear) but since then no problems. It would appear that there is nothing wrong with the engine design and all the early troubles were down to a bad batch of components. I'm expecting to run this one for another year and then change for another or maybe a Tamora, not sure yet.
As a matter of interest I had 80k on my last TVR ( 4.0 Chimaera) and it gave less trouble than the Mercedes I had before that. The only thing I can suggest is "use the damn thing" they don't like posing around town and as I do a return trip most days of 50 miles mostly out of town mine gets properly warmed up regularly."
Seems to have the right idea! The chances are that it's done a number of miles with the sorted Speed 6!

That is the answer to the question you asked but not the whole story. He did mention in his post than that was early on with the dodgy components. So, based on that I suppose it does say that that reliability has improved and he doesn't think there is an inherent problem with later cars. Depends on how you read it though, half full or half empty.
Trade-in's are absolute pants. I wouldn't even dare put up the quotes I've been given by my dealer as I've just had months of therapy to get over it.
I suspect I will pitch mine somewhere around £30-32k mark next March, as I'm after a relatively quick sale (if I can bring myself to sell it). If it hangs around for ages I might change my mind .. lol

Interesting topic - I'm after an S in the new year (Andy - could be interested in yours if you're able to sell in Feb? After a light interior - couldn't see what yours is) and have been watching prices carefully. Make that VERY carefully, after getting shafted on my Chim last year I've learnt my lesson. It seems that most 01 cars with average miles go around the mid 30's but there does seem to be a big difference dealer to dealer let alone between dealer and private. Cheapest I've heard of was the one in Motorpoint up in deepest darkest Derby - confirmed by them as an S in 'Lexus Silver.' At one point it was advertised in the late 20's - 28k I think. Don't know what it went for in the end but someone got a rather good deal I suspect.
