I am due to be flying from gatwick next week and will be driving down there. Can anyone recommend a hotel/car parking where I can leave my car securely and without leaving my keys.

I use the Official South Terminal (booked through these guys: http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/). You park your car, keep your keyes and take the bus (every 10 mins or so), which takes 5 mins to get to the terminal. If you need to get to teh North Terminal you can take the free monorail from the South.

It's not secured - i.e. behind triple razor wire with Armed guards, but I've never had any issues there.

Thanks I'll have a look there.
I've just checked the time of my tickets and we need to check in at 06:00 so a hotel with parking for the week might be the best bet if anyone knows of any.

I've always used Long Stay at Gatwick booked on line, never had a problem although I do pick a space carefully!
Damn long walk to the bus from some areas though so think as you park up. Also worth checking on line with BAA as sometimes they do a deal on short stay which makes it only a few quid more per day than long stay & is a short walk in.

Anybody have any recommendations for a safe no-leaving-keys parking for Gatwick south?

If you book far enough in advance the short stay isnt that bad (we are still talking probably 25% more than the long), but given the convenience I have done it this way before

To be honest the official BAA carparks seem pretty safe and are quite reasonable. If I remember right you need a credit card to get in and out and are massive so the chances of your motor being stolen are lower plus there is a decent, regular bus service to the terminal.

It's £133 in the short stay or £93.50 for the long stay, I suppose on the scale of things it's not a lot extra and if it's snowing or has snowed I will be glad I parked under cover.

eta I click the 'book now' and up comes a box for the Serviceair lounge for £16 extra rolleyes oh well I might as well......

I came back to mine at Business parking, huge dent in door from car next door, I was very angry but it was 2am so no-one to talk to. Called in the morning asking for CCTV or help in anyway, they told me to feck off. Which was nice. Park Budget but park as far away as possible under a light.

Hopefully I will be immune from dents (with a blue badge in designated parking bays) one of the benefits that has arisen from being knocked off my bike irked

I used the parking at the short stay and after paying £16 for the Servisair lounge it came to £149 for 10 days and was a very easy and convenient solution.

When I returned some had keyed the car round the rear quarter and across the back of the boot, I suppose that's to be expected nowadays.
