It looks like a very large American rip off of an Ariel Atom.

That's the Nuts!

I love the Ferrari 156 style nose and the overall look and shape. Not sure about the rear light arrangement though.

The Type G is extended to take the Corvette V8 engine (you know what they American's are like, its got to be bigger regardless as 'there aint no substitute for cubes') There's more V8's in the USA they are readily available and cheap.

The Type F is lighter and takes a longitudinal Audi powerplant. So there's plenty of variations to play with if you want to. Personally 400 bhp per tonne from a 4 pot is oodles to play with in my books. and the Type F is prettier I think.

As it's now out in the public domain (see Stoneleigh show guide), if you'd like to see the Deronda then pop along to Stoneleigh and we'll be very happy to talk to you about it and you can try it for size, in the meantime here's an overview www.QdosCars.co.uk/deronda

The new one does look a lot better.

When I saw the original my first thought was 'I wonder if Ariel has a good lawyer?' smile

I think it looks a bit like a fish.

It is nice to see it progressing though, I remember when the project was just getting off the ground, seeing an early prototype in a factory unit in Buckingham. Seems to have come some way since then!

It's completely different to the Atom. about the only thing that's similar is it has some exposed chassis. If you'd like to read about it then look out for the next issue of Complete Kit Car. The Type F runs a mid mounted longitudinal Audi/VAG engine (A4, A6 or TT or indeed you could get one out of a VW,Skoda or SEAT). The current demonstrator / track car is a 1.8 tubo putting out 300bhp. A V6 is being considered for the road demonstrator. If someone wants to try the V8 from the A8 then even that may well fit in too. Weight is 667kg

If you want to see it first hand then come down to Kingston Lacey on 19th July
http://www.british-sportscar.com/ph/

Or if you want a ride then come to On your Marks on 2nd August at Bruntingthorpe

failing that arrange a try via the website http://www.deronda.co.uk

qdos - Do you have any pricing information on the cars yet? And is it only one trim spec or are there options for carpets and leather etc.?

I'm in the market for a 7 type car at the moment but this is about the only non-7 car that has caught my attention.... partly due to the 1.8T engine choice.

You supply engine and gearbox plus your choice of wheels and tyres and the rest can be had for £14k to build the whole car. Lots of fancy options should you want them such as Aerofoil section wishbones and Ohlins dampers for example. The car is an open top track machine, so leather and carpets are not the sort of thing normally asked for, but if you want them I am certain it can be arranged. Top quality neighbours who trim and restore vintage Rolls Royce for should give you an idea for example wink
