A plane has three classes of seating... First, business and Tourist.

In first class their are 12 seats.
Two thirds (66%) of the seats are Tourist class
One quarter (25%) is Business class.

How many seats are there all together??.......

SO 66% + 25% = 91% leaving 9% in first class

9% = 12 seats the 1% = 1.33333 seats
100% = 133 seats

maybe?

Excluding any additional information such as the pilot, co pilot and navigator(?) seats, the air hostess/es seats etc... one would assume 66+25=91% therefore 9% is FC. 12/9=1.3333 so 1 % is 1.333333 seats. therefore 100% is 133 seats......

But thats too easy....what are we missing toprivetgun?

If 144 or if 133: then if 66% are tourist you don't get an integer number of seats - can't have a portion of a tourist seat.

....you've never flown Bularia Air then have you? I'm 6'2" and CANNOT fit in their standard seat - the seat spacing is too short for my thigh length. I compained that I would have stand up all the way and they very kindly moved me to the "special" row at the front with extra leg room only to be flanked by what can only be described as 2 Russian doormen training to be the illigitimate love children of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks........
By legs were fine, but my shoulders were crushed to b$ggery for 4 hours..........

Well done sir!

The easiet way is to change it all into fractions.

66% is equal to 2/3 and 25% is equal to 1/4.

Change this into 12ths and you get 8/12ths plus 3/12ths which equates to 11/12ths.

Since there is only 1/12th left to make 100%, 1/12th is equal to twelve seats.

Simple multiplication and you arrive at 144. Forgive me If I havent explained this the best. Its alot easier in person on paper...

Congrats exevo
