So as to make it look better with its new CSL rims, I would like to reduce the ride height of my Z4 a little. From my Focus days with Eibach -30mm spring kit, I know that Eibach do the job nicely and I also know that I would not like to go any lower than this for general driveability as well as the fact it will be staying on standard shocks.

My questions are;

- Has anyone used Eibachs on their Z4?
- Are they any good (they were a better ride than standard springs on the focus)
- How much lower than standard are M-Sport springs? If for example 10mm lower then a 30mm Z4 lowering kit will only lower my Z4 by 20mm. Is this correct?
- Can anyone recommend anything better?

A few people have the Eibach kit on the Z4-forum, and opinions are mixed.

Personally I think another 15mm drop is too much and will make the car too low and just ground more, meaning you have to go slower = crap.

Any pics of your car on the CSL's as it sits now? Is the gap all round the tyre about equal, or is it bigger at the top?

Does your Z4 already have the sports suspension as per the 3.0? If not, I wouldn't be surprised if the stealer could change it for you, or supply the parts. I found out belatedly it was possible on my E46 SE.

No harm in asking.

Pictures to come, would like it lower I think.

It has the sport suspension as per other 3.0i models.

I think you have to imagine what it's actually sat like when your in it, maybe with a passenger, and want to get over a speed bump, not what it looks like empty... what it drives like is more important, so if you do lower it, go for new dampers and springs!
