Z4 brakes - anyone else had probelems???
Discussion
After a shockingly short period of time (36K miles!!) I've got to replace all 4 discs and pads on the car. Wanting to get some better performance (found the standard items a bit lacking at times) but not being able to break the bank (brake the bank?! anyone... no.. ok!) and go for the full AP/Brembo big brake kit route i opt'd for standard size discs but grooved and heat treated and EBC yellow-stuff pads in the standard callipers.
The problem is the rear discs supplied do not fit. They turn out to be E46 discs not E85 specific ones (the difference being a deeper bell-housing). According to the supplier he can't find anyone that actually stocks the right size rear disc other than BMW and that this would cost a lot more than what i've already paid despite negotiating with them.
Has anyone had this problem before and what did you do about it? I'm now looking at another £100+ bill on top of what i've already paid!!

Not sure if they are right yet (only bought them Saturday), but I got mine for about £40 a piece from Euro Car Parts.
Got all new OEM brake consumeables (apparently ATE discs/Textar pads are OE that BMW sell) for £227 all in + sensor wires.
The rear discs were number:
ATE Discs 104111010 £41.50 each (thats inc VAT, but with a discount for the large purchase, so maybe £43 each normally)
Again, not 100% they fit yet, but they look the same, and were special ordered in from their London supplier.
Cheers
Dave

I might try fit them this weekend.
Generally they feel ok, but they have big lips (looks like 1.5mm+ ) so are ready to be swapped, and are fairly grooved. Probably been on there since new. Do feel soggy after a few harder stops, and start to spew out lots of brake dust. Just ready for a full swap I think
Will report back on if they are right or not!
