Thanks to some great bargaining by the organisers, admission to this Sundays re-scheduled MSVR event at Silverstone is FREE. Let's try to get as many people along as possible to support what should be a great meeting with great grids!

Thanks for the timetable Neil. It should be a fab day's racing, with great content. Both Lotus and GT Cup should have full grids, I gather that there were 36 GT's on the list for Donington but we can start more (40 I think) at silverstone so hopefully there may be a few more.

But is anyone else sensing a growing bitterness with silverstone about Donington? The latter have a bridge which meets FIA approval, but not the BRDC approval...who are based at silverstone...so the donington race series gets moved to silverstone...who then offer free entry.

There's going to be some interetsing pr stories from silverstone about this, no doubt

Eh? What does the BRDC have to do with it? Donington doesn't have a licence from the relevant body (the MSA) to run races, as I understand it.

No conspiracy theories please!

AFAIK Silverstone has been chosen because it has availability for this weekend (and a track licence!)and because it is in the same region so it's possible for those who have accomodation and travel plans to still carry on with those arrangements.

The gate has been funded by the organisers (MSVR & the series involved)and is nothing to do with Silverstone and/or the BRDC other than Silverstone get an amount of money to cover what they would have got from the gate.

An open gate gives the series involved chance to get their supportors/sponsors etc. in with no hassle and practically given the timescale it avoids the need to get tickets out to competitors, marshals and spectator which as the meeting was only finalised on Saturday is quite useful!

??????????? The MSA withdrew the licence because the new tunnel created a huge hazard trackside. What do the BRDC and bridges have to do with it?

Provided I can pick the Elise up from the garage tomorrow me and my girlfriend will be there! Was gutted to see Donnigton cancelled as we where going to make a weekend of it up in Derby, but this way we get to see some great racing and save a few quid

One thing I would say is go prepared with food etc. Given that this was meeting was chucked in at the last minute and that Silverstone's catering facilities are never very extensive (IMHO)at the best of times, I wouln't want to rely on getting much there.

Looks like I'll be popping in for a couple of hours at some point. Managed to persuade Mrs S that she doesn't need me to push the buggy, if anything she can hang more crap off the handles if I am not there.

I would just like to say what a great event this was. We managed to go for the whole day - weather was great and lots of great racing. We both had a fantastic time.
