Guys,

I am still banging on about changing my wheels.

I would ideally like OZ 16x9s - but they seem very rare.

Anyone got some in the garage they wanna convert to cash ........ prob not.

If 16s are never gonna happen. What other options do I have ? Dont understand bolt sizes, spacers ?!?, dimensions, etc etc. I have a 400se with 15s on so what do I have to look out for when surfing for aftermarkets ?

Also, on full lock my 15s with 225/50/15s already rub on the engine bay body bit ( technical huh ? )

Thanks

If your 15" wheels are rubbing the inner arches then no chance on 16" by 9"
Do you know what width you have running on the car, my old 15"s are 8.5" wide and with the SE boady you will have to consider the rubbing on the inner arch at the top of the arch as i have seen a few cars with rubbing.
You could try a 5mm spacer all round to held with any clearence issues.

My 390 rubs one front tyre against the inner lip of the arch... but the 22 year old springs probably don't help!

ETA: standard lattice wheels, per the 350, too.

I run 17" rims with 215/45 tyres on my 350 and have no issues with any tyre rubbing problems.

I know of a set of four 16" rims which are not being used at the minute.
If you are desperate, drop me a mail and I'll give the guy a call for you. He is a fellow wedger but I don't think he visits this site very often. If he will part with them, I doubt he'll give them away mind...
