Well, about 10-20 minutes ago i managed to hack my indext finger open and the cut was down to the bone. And for the first time in my life i fainted!!!

bugger me its a wierd feeling. I was out for maybe 20 second, so not long but bugger me, i did not know what was going on when i came to.

Anyone else prone to fainting? and does the feeling get any less wierd after the first time.

Probably in the wrong section but i have just bounced my head of terracotta tiles, so i think i can be forgiven.

Never fainted. And have done far worse things than what you describe.

I only fainted the once when I was a kid, someone told me that if I span round 20 times, crouched down holding my breath for 1 minutes then jumped up I would faint, so I did confused

So you have a 10 minute old cut that goes down to the bone?
And you are sitting around posting stuff on the internet.

Sounds more like concussion, or maybe percussion wink

I have fainted a lot - can't stand blood or needles !

Yes its bloody weird. I get very hot, my sight goes all hazy, I normally have an amazing dream, then wake up on the floor with loads of people looking down at you. Very confusing ! 1st time it happened I thought I was dead !

Ive fainted a few times over the years. Twice, someone has screamed 'OH MY GOD HE'S DEAD!!!'. Nice to know people jump to such conclusions!

hi,
There was a stanley knife blade in my room, loged in such a manner that the sharp bit was pointing up

i dropped my computer mouse, went to grab it and managed to slice my finger on this blade.

made a right mess,

thing is ive tacken chuckes of fles outa of myself in biking accidents, dilocated body parts and been hit by cars and ive NEVER lost conciousness.

this was just an uber wierd feeling.

i;ve got a roll of toilet paper wrapped around the cut now, so i should be fine

I used to faint a lot as a kid when I was growing.

Especially when in chapel at school, from being stood up a lot and singing a lot.

Never did any damage.

Never fainted from pain, or from blood.

i had the dream bit, but i was dreaming i was talking to dad still holding the cut shut contemplating hospital, then im on the floor in the hall with mum and dad looking down on me wondering wtf just happened

I was in the downstairs toilet before i fainted cleaning the cut.

so waking up 25 ft from where you were really does confuse you. as does falling and bouncing your bonce off a tiled floor.

and given im 6ft+ thats a long fall.

I did similar when I was about ten. Ring pull on a can of peanuts (who the hell buys peanuts in a can?) came off when I was opening it and I sliced my finger right down to the bone. Felt light headed, but then the pain kicked in 'refocused' me. Cue running to my parents screaming and splurting blood everywhere. Got impressive range on the bloody squirt - managed to get blood on the ceiling which required a paint touch up afterwards.

You big Jessie!

When I was 16 I sliced my thumb to the bone (still don't have feeling in the end of it due to severed nerves), I got it taped back-up and went round to my mates and still thrashed them at Goldeneye...

when i was a at school a class mate fainted during a school trip and he fell straight forward and smashed his face on a table. He woke up holding his knee totally unaware that he had smashed his face. Needless to say instead of running to his aid we all laughed in somekind of freakish horror.

+1 Poor tiles, to get your big ugly 6'+ frame bouncing on them. I hope you've checked them for damage....

Never fainted myself, but knocked myself out doing big air jumps when skiing in Tignes a few years ago. Skied for the afternoon in a bit of pain, took the last day off and flew home the day later. This was two days before Christmas and didn't want to spoil holidays so paracetemol and a bit of grin and bear it, went to hospital the day after boxing day. Turned out I had a fractured left leg, three compression fractured (triangular instead of square) vertebrae. yikes

I remember coming round and thinking 'it's bright' (I'd knocked my sunnies off) and 'this feels like some serious damage' (it was).

Had to almost beg for an x-ray in the hospital, they weren't convinced it was anything other than a pulled muscle, even though I was certain it was more than that. They were a bit more forgiving when the results came back though!
