Hi all,

I recently had the joy to experience the water penetration into the fuel system (the seal on the cap was slightly damaged...). I had to change the fuel filter, the oil pressure, the spark plugs and the cat converters.

Now the car is starting ok, but I'm struggling to accelerate below 4,000rpm.

I thought this had to do with a dirty oil, so decided to drive it for an hour on the highway but it seems nothing has changed -i.e. I can't do any frank acceleration. Strangely enough, things looked almost ok when I drove above 4,000rpm.

Anyone experienced this/has an idea of where it may come from?

Many thanks

eh? Sorry that makes little sense to me.

You ended up with water in the fuel. You've changed fuel pumps, filters etc.

You also changed oil pressure? Do you mean filter or the oil or both? Why did you do this, was it contaminated?

If you haven't done so I'd check the injectors for flow and hosing, you could have damaged those too.

Lambda sensors I would guess. Since the engine map doesnt use lambda readings above 4000 rpm this would explain your situation quite well. Presumably there's no mil warning light illuminated, so the lambdas are still returning readings within the permitted range, they may be responding very slowly.

Sorry, I should also mention one very important thing: the -orange- oil indicator is permanently on (although the oil pressure is > 40)

I think unless someone has a clear idea of the origin of the issue, I'll just bring her to my TVR garage -thanks god, I live in the UK

Did you unplug the lambdas (i'm assuming it's a V8 engine). If you plug them back into the wrong bank things go very wrong. I did it after a clutch change. Took me a few hours of fiddling and a visit to track car to figure it out.

Plug into the diagnostics and find out exactly what is showing up as logged faults.

Thank all,

This was just a spark plug that was not well plugged in -sometimes problems stem from ridiculous things!
